Not a problem this past year, right? Life has been anything but boring. And I’m sure it’s the same for your business as well. What I am referring to is different. I am talking about having fun and not being boring in the experiences you create for your staff and your customers.
I say your staff because they are the ones that are directly interacting with your customers on a daily basis, and you want them to be up and positive, don’t you? You want them to have fun with your customers.
I don’t care what type of business you have-restaurant, auto-repair shop, flower store, bank, attorney, heart surgeon… well, maybe not that last one.
People Don’t Want Boring! They want to have fun.
Nobody goes out to eat at a restaurant to be bored. They go out to forget their daily problems for an hour or two. To celebrate and have someone else take care of them. If you’re just grabbing food to consume, you can go to a grocery store for that.
If you only do carryout, you can still integrate some level of fun and excitement to interact with your customers. If you have an auto repair shop, you can come up with an outside-the-box idea to make people smile, laugh, tell their friends how awesome you are when they went in to get an oil change and found out they needed a new transmission that cost them $3000. Believe me, at that point they need a little fun and humor.
Bottom line DON’T BE BORING! Plaster that on your wall in your office.
Something that has a big benefit is incorporating humor into marketing. A good way to get people talking about you and your business is to make them laugh with your marketing.
In this short video clip, I show you how one national restaurant chain uses humor to get employees.
