The most powerful letters in marketing are W.I.I.F.M.
Which means: What’s in it for me? You must craft your offer, your marketing, and promotional campaigns using this perspective. Put yourself in your customers’ shoes and try to imagine if what you are talking about or offering them will really motivate them into action.
Please don’t disregard how hard it is to get someone to do what you want them to do in today’s world.
People are distracted and have many, many options for any product or service. Restaurants, food delivery, auto repair, retail…whatever business you are in. It doesn’t matter. With the internet and mobile phones your customers can choose one of your competitors in a matter of seconds with a flick of their finger.
You need to craft your offer / promotion keeping this in mind. You need something with a high perceived value that sounds amazing. If you’re going to give away a pizza, for example, make it sound like it’s the most incredible pizza in the world that is adored by millions.
