I just got back from speaking at my friend and mentor, Bill Glazer’s, event for his new book launch, “Outrageous Marketing Campaigns” in San Diego this week. I wrote a chapter about one of the campaigns that we use here at DFY Marketing Systems.
Bill wrote the book and put on a live event to raise money for Veterans who have had strokes. Great cause, by the way. Bill donated all profits from the book sales and ticket sales for the live event. He raised over $123,000 for the Veterans and it’s still going! There were 39 speakers over the 2-day time span. That’s a lot of speakers!
It was very cool to see lots of old friends from when I was a part of Bill’s Platinum Group many years ago. Some of the biggest names in online and offline marketing were there. Russel Brunson, Ryan Deiss, Yanik Silver, and Matt Bacak, just to name a few.
The great thing is that I knew most of them and I always walk away with insider secrets and takeaways when participating in these types of events because it gives me the opportunity to have a chance to reconnect and talk with these brilliant marketers.
When you go to an event like this, you always want to try to walk away with one or two big ideas that you will try to implement when you get back home to your business. I walked away with three.
Wanna know what they are?
Ok, I’ll tell you because you’re on my list – and I thank you for that. I always want to make sure that I’m giving you good content that you can use to increase sales and better your business.
Here we go:
- Chatbots (you may also know this as Live Chat on websites) will be bigger than email for online marketing.
- You can not replace people when it comes to selling in your business. Invest in people more than technology.
- Facebook Ads and boosting posts are the cheapest online traffic you can buy right now that is also highly targeted to build your list and sell stuff.
I’ll give you another bonus secret that I picked up that is going to be huge: Talk AI (Artificial intelligence) will replace mobile phones in the next 5 years. Because of this, reviews will be the ultimate deciding factor in how you attract new customers.
For example, do you own an Amazon Alexa or Google Echo/Home? Ask it what the highest rated restaurant in your neighborhood is. Yep, that’s how we are going to get our information in 5 years. Through talk.
Something to think about. Think your reviews are important now?
