Hi, hope you’re doing fantastic!
Plans for this holiday weekend?
This 4th in the U.S. is going to be a lot different than previous holidays, and sometimes you have to roll with the punches. We all got punched big time by this thing called Covid.
I’m not going to talk about marketing or making sales this week. Nope. I’m going to talk about you.
We are all entrepreneurs and business owners and have to realize we are the engine that drives our businesses. That’s important to remember. Because if the engine breaks on your car, you go nowhere.
As the owner, we also have to wear many hats, and because of the situation we’re in we’ve had to wear a lot of different hats these past few months. It hasn’t been easy, I know.
I’d like to share some advice that has helped me in the 35 years of owning my own businesses. No matter how difficult your situation gets, you need to take time for you. You need to step away – even if it’s for a few days to recharge and refocus. Whatever that means for you personally, I encourage you to do it this weekend.
Take a few days and spend it with your family, friends, loved ones. Whoever or whatever is important to you in your life other than your business. It will help you see things clearer on the other side.
I have the privilege of talking with hundreds of restaurant, auto repair, and retail shop owners every week. I hear the frustration in their voices. I also hear stories of hope and determination – which is encouraging. You work very hard at your business to keep your employees and customers happy. Now is the time for you to take a break from all the crazy and relax.
If you need an excuse or a reason to take some time this weekend, for you, I am giving it to you now.
Your business will be there when you get back, I promise. Your staff, your family, friends, and most importantly – YOU will thank yourself for it come Monday.
Rest, Relax, Recharge, and most importantly – have some fun this weekend!
