The Part 3 edition highlights the third way businesses are increasing their sales and revenue during this crisis. This information is taken from thousands of businesses across the US and Canada of what they’re currently doing that works to make more money.

Having this information will help you communicate more effectively with your customers and potential customers to get them into your business.

We all are looking for the magic bullet when it comes to marketing and making more sales. The problem is, there isn’t one. If I told you to do this one, single thing and it will work like crazy getting you more customers and making a ton of money… you’d say AWESOME! Sign me up! Right?

The problem is, I would be lying, and I wouldn’t do that to you. So, what’s the answer? There isn’t one single media, message, copy, design, offer, promotion, or electronic doohickey thingy that will work in today’s world (especially right now), that can stand alone to generate more sales for your business.

It’s a combination of 10 different things that you have to be doing that will work together to make an impact on your sales. That’s not to say you need 10 different promotions, messages, and use 10 different media channels to make a significant increase in your sales, but one or two just won’t work.

That’s why in this third edition of what’s working right now, I talk about print media. Yes, good ole fashion print. Print marketing is still one of the most reliable, effective ways to reach your new and existing customers to come to your business.

Print simply works. Why? Lots of reasons especially right now with less competition in your customer’s mailboxes. And, it has a delivery and open rate 4 times greater than that of email. You might be asking yourself then why should I do email? You MUST have multiple channels of communication to reach your customers in today’s world. Don’t rely on just one.

I like print because it’s the best way to reach new customers and stay top of mind with your existing customers.

Some ideas for you to use print in your business are:

  • Print customer newsletters (My personal favorite, btw)
  • Bounce-back offers in carryout bags/boxes
  • Postcards
  • Brochures
  • Business cards with bounce-back offers
  • Mailing trifold menus
  • No Peeking envelopes
  • Scratch-off postcards
  • Personalized Thank You cards
  • Personalized letters
  • New mover postcards
  • Customized print pieces from your business
  • New customer acquisition pieces

Hopefully, you can get a few ideas from this list above. Some are very good for new customer acquisition and some are very effective for getting your existing customers to come back more often. There are lots of variables to print marketing that need to be taken into account when creating and distributing a successful marketing campaign. Too many to list here.
