Do you know what it is???

I’ll give you a hint… everybody has them, and there are lots of them out there for the world to see specific to your business if you like it or not.

Sounds pretty important, doesn’t it? That’s because it is!

What am I talking about here?

If you haven’t guessed, I’m talking about your online reputation for your business. Specifically, your Google Business Listing and online reviews.

You have two choices when it comes to your online reputation- to be in control of it or to stick your head in the sand and completely ignore it.

I wouldn’t recommend the second option as it may do some serious harm to your sales and the longevity of your business. Also, think about how many and the quality of new employees you can attract.

Why is this so important? Because it’s what 92.8% of your new customers look at before deciding if they want to come to your business and give you money in exchange for whatever you are selling. I promise you that your new potential employees are checking you out online before deciding if they want to fill out an application to work for you or not.

So, what does your online reputation look like for your business?

After watching my video, Google the name of your business and see what comes up. You need to know what your customers are saying about you online. And, you need to know how to deal with it if it’s negative. It could hurt your sales if it’s not dealt with quickly in the right way.

See two examples from this week alone from two of our clients for whom we manage their Google and review sites.

WARNING they are not the nicest reviews and get a little nasty. The names have been changed to protect the innocent, and these restaurant owners are innocent!

See what I mean? People aren’t in the best moods right now, but they want what they want when they want it, how they want it.

They don’t care if you’re short-staffed or can’t get product because your supplier is short-staffed, and you’re last on the list for product because they’re taking care of the big boys first. I’m calling NOT FAIR!

Yet some of your customers, not all, find it necessary to take to the most harmful outlet they can find easily right at their fingertips to try and take you down!

That’s how people feel vindication in today’s digital world. They don’t want to talk to a human being about their experience and allow us to make it right. Nope, they would rather smile and walk out the door telling you that everything was fine.

Then they get in the cars and immediately grab their phones and jump on Yelp or some other review site, or heaven forbid your Google business listing, to let the entire world know that your restrooms were disgusting, and your menus were dirty, and it took Julie 10 minutes to get them their bill!

Oh, they are angry my friend. They are angry right now. Lots of it has to do with COVID, and some of it is just part of being in business in a digital world.
