The busiest restaurant in the world- that’s a pretty big claim, and who gave it that accolade? That’s the first lesson that we should talk about here. Do you want to be the best in the world at something?

Best oil change auto shop, best burger joint, best menswear store on the planet, best pizza within 50 miles or it’s free? That last one is my favorite. When I owned my first restaurant when I was 18 years old called Jozzepies Pizzeria in Michigan, I used that tagline everywhere. It got me noticed. Guess how many free pizzas I gave away? Only 2!

Just like Dominos, if you can remember back when they first touted their big, bold guarantee– Free Delivery In 30 Minutes or Less or Your Pizza Is Free. They came out with this program when I was a 6-month newbie into the pizza business. I didn’t even do delivery, and I had to get my act together in a hurry to compete. That’s why I came up with the Best Pizza in 50 Miles slogan- worked great!

I went with the quality over quantity route for marketing my product. By the way, it was a pretty darn good pizza. That helps. At the same time, Little Caesars also came out with their 2 for 1 pizza promotion- that one almost put me under.

I thought should I switch and do 2 for 1 to compete? Nope, I wasn’t doing it. Another lesson here is… watch what everyone else is doing, then do the opposite. I was sticking to my guns and making a quality pizza and making a B.B.G. That stands for Big, Ballsy, Guarantee. Glad I did because it brought me lots of new customers.

My point being, who gave me the distinction of being the best pizza for 50 miles? I did. You don’t have to wait for someone adorn you with an award or public distinction. Do it yourself. But make it bold, something people will stop and say, WOW I’ll try that. And they remember it then tell their friends about it. But don’t forget you have to have a good product or service if you want them back.

The big, bold guarantee or claim works to get them in, but you have to do a good job to keep them. That’s the price of being in business. The only thing great marketing will do if your business sucks is put you out of business that much quicker. So, overdeliver for your customers and create a memorable experience for them.

Now, getting back to the busiest restaurant in the world. Who gave them that title? They probably did- a rumor that started online and went viral. Don’t get me wrong, this place is busy. Is it the busiest restaurant in the world, though? Who knows, and who is going to disprove it?

I’m sure at this point you are dying to know what restaurant it is and where it is located. If you want to find out, you’ll have to watch the first 47 seconds of the video below.

And in the video, I share the biggest lesson for any business I learned from going there. It will make your business and your life easier if you implement what I share about their success.

This is my polite way of getting you to watch the video. LOL.

I also have a gift for you- especially if you are in the restaurant industry. We did a web class on The Top 6 Strategies for Finding, Attracting & Hiring a Superstar Restaurant Staff.

Locating and finding the best staff, then getting them to fill out an application and actually show up for the interview isn’t an easy thing to accomplish, and that’s why we put together this presentation to help you implement what is working right now.

I’m only leaving the recording up for a few days. And by the way you have to give it a minute before it starts.
